Straight Shooter - Reformed With New Line UP!
It's Official!
May 2007 - Following an absense of 18 months Mike Kenworthy and Bill Brotherstone are putting together Straight Shooter MkII.
Mike has been playing with 'She' for two years but decided that girl rock was no longer for him and as the band become more pop-orientated, he wanted to get back to his roots.
Bill has been playing with blues band "Dr Zeek's Blues Epidemic" (Formerly the Imbus Eels) mainly covers from John Mayall, Buddy Guy, Robert Cray and the likes. They produced a demo CD last August and are heading for the festival circuit.
Original front man John Cox had a spell with "Colonel Blink" in Newcastle before picking up his solo career. We're good mates and still stay in touch - good luck John!
Zander is still with She and we may do a gig with them late in the year.
After several auditions and false starts the band have been joined by an astounding young guitar player, Dougie Nesbit. Dougie studied music at Aberdeen and his influences include Yngwie Malmsteen and Randy Rhodes, not to mention Paganini and Bach! His highlight so far was meeting Yngwie and his band in Sweden. Full marks to Mike for finding a guy who had been living right under his nose!! Have you tried Spec-savers Mike?
We have now been joined by Oz on Vocals and Guitar to make the line up complete - the first rehearsal was amazing and we will be gigging really soon.
Within days of talking about getting back together we got lots of positive interest and support. There are some Border gigs in the pipeline and have a look at our Myspace site!

We didn't know we had so many friends out there! See you on the road soon!
